In Big Daddy there are many characters but there are three main comedy characters, which bring the audience into the story. The main character is the funny guy and the one who everyone likes and everyone wants the character to be happy this is Sonny. Then the main character has his best friend who is a bit boring because he is more mature than the main character but everyone still likes him because under the mature look he is a fun nice guy this is Kevin. Also there is the really, really funny character who is the delivery man who is the main characters other good friend; everyone loves this character because its none stop laughing with him because he is very random. On top of all these characters are the other characters like the girlfriends and random other characters to link up the story.

Daddy Day Care

Charlie (Eddie Murphy), a busy working father, is fired after the health division in his company was shut down. Desperate for money Charlie opens up a day care center with the help of two friends who used to work with him. As it became more popular, a nearby school's daycare became less populated because Charlie's center Daddy Day Care was much cheaper and the children enjoyed it much more. Mrs. Harridan, the head of that school tries to shut down Daddy Day Care, but fails. Charlie and one of his friends are offered a better job at their old company and they decide to take it. But not long after, Charlie soon realizes that the job isn't what he really wants to do and misses his son. He returns to Daddy Day Care, only to learn that everybody left and went to the expensive school with Mrs. Harridan. He successfully convinces the children and their parents to come back to Daddy Day care and Daddy Day Care becomes a very big success.

Both films are very similar, not only because they are both Comedies and have the same sort of setting and the same audience reaction. The plots are also very similar because they both stick to the stereotype layout of a comedy genre. They both have people who don’t know what to do with life so end up trying various things, but a couple of things go wrong and complicates stuff even more. After thinking about it all the character gets it all back to normal and everyone lives happily ever after. Both films are very enjoyable so people would like to see both.

Both of these analysis of film plot will help me when making my film and deciding the genre of the film and how to storyboard the film. When looking through the plot of the film you are able to get an instant feel to the film and you are able to tell weather or not you will like or dislike the film. Looking at the plots of various films will help me decided on what I want my film to put across to the audience and what I want to happen during the duration of my film. It also helps me look at character type for the actors and actresses, which would be in my film.
