THEME OF THE MAIN FILM

The main theme for my film is action based drama, the opening is to make the audience want to watch on and find out what the hell they just saw because they will not have a clue why or what has just happened. They see a girl doing various things for a long time and would most likely presume she has OCD. She then kills herself, or that’s what it seems like has happened.

To help get a grip on the drama what is happening in the opening scene a good use of camera shots, sound and editing will be used making it hopefully add to the confusion of what is happening and why is it happening.

As the drama unfolds and it gets more confusing for the audience a voice over phone conversation comes on. The conversation is simply but still leaves the audience wondering what is happening and why is she not sure about going to the party and makes them want to find out who is this character.

The mood of the film set by the confusing plot and the confusing things which are happening because it doesn’t make sense to the audience making the want to watch on. I wanted the audiences’ mood to be confused and worried. The use of mise-en-scene will help this with the setting of the character’s home, and the film being in black and white.

I wanted the film to be almost like sin city in the way it is black and white and only highlights various features or things in the film in colour. For example I wanted the word ‘help’ on one of the CD’s to be in red so it had emphasis on it and adds to the confusion and randomness of the film making the audience want to watch on.
